Waves: Barely a foot
Wind: Calm to strong offshore
Wow! It's the last day of November - I can't believe it. I better start on the November movie and my Christmas shopping.
Sorry to say the surf sucked this morning - I like to stay positive but there's no getting around the fact that there were NO waves this morning. However after not surfing for 4 days - I had to paddle out.
We just checked in to the Embassy Suites Waikiki, we're here for two nights. This is Dora's birthday present.
Our room has two rooms and two bathrooms - great room but not the greatest view.
This one of the views, you can see our home Ala Moana Beach in the distance.
Have a good weekend!!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving - we sure did! We went to my cousin Norman's house for our annual Thanksgiving lunch.
It's always great to see the kids getting older and having fun.
Big Island Opihi - my favorite!
Norman had prepared Turkey with mashed potatoes and stuffing.
He also roasted this killer Prime Rib - this was soo good!
Prime Rib - close up.
I like Namasu and this was a good one.
I made my Ahi Mac Nut - here it is drowning in the Tobiko Cream sauce.
My sister Cat made Chicken Lettuce Wraps - Wow! Just like PF Chang's!
The dessert table - featured Pie's by Alan.
It's tradition - we always have to play Bingo. The kids are tasked with being the Bingo-callers. It's cool to see the the young kids step-up to be Bingo-callers and see the older kids graduate to be Bingo-Players! This year Dawn, Kai and Maika were excellent Bingo-callers.
One of the first Bingo winners - Cat gets 2 gifts!
Thanks Norman for hosting us again - we all had a GREAT time!!!!!
Waves: 1 foot
Wind: Perfect offshores
Great conditions with small but fun surf. No West wrap yet.

Yup, today I am 49 years old. I was going to lie like last year but I'm ok with my age. I am what I am. As long as I'm still surfing I'm ok.
Well I didn't get any big waves for my birthday but I did get a lot of surprise gifts - Big Mahalo to everyone who gave a gift or a birthday wish - I really appreciate it. Some people fight their birthday - I embrace it - bring it on (gifts that is - haha).
Check it out Bose earphones for my iPhone just what I needed - thanks Tony and Leighton!!!!
Randy and Bev brought down my own little birthday cake with candle!!!! Randy sings pretty good too!
Birthday breakfast courtesy of Jonny - hit the spot right out of the water!!!!
Brandon got me a new leash for my new board - right on!!!!
The new 8-7 is feeling so good I put my stickers on it this morning - I guess that means it's a keeper!

I selected Cafe Miro as our dining destination today. Cafe Miro is a French Restaurant with a Japanese owner/Chef on Waialae Ave. We love the food and the dining room and staff are very comfortable - not stuffy at all.
They always serve a complimentary pre-appetizer, this evening it's a cold Cream of Carrot soup - tasty and refreshing.
Dora and her mom went with the Ahi Carpaccio beautiful AND delicious.
Check out this Seafood Salad, Shrimp, Scallop, Fish and Calamari with greens. This is one of their most popular appetizers, both my father in-law and I got this one.
My second course - Hakkaido Scallops and Mushrooms in a light Curry sauce, tender and tasty - this would make a good entree with a larger portion.
Braised Short Ribs is always a popular choice for my family - Dora and her Dad ordered this. Must've been good he was very quiet the whole time.
Dora's mom chose one of the evening's Specials - Mahi Mahi in a creamy caper sauce.
I had Moi on my mind after hearing Randy and Tony talk about Moi and how to catch it and how to cook it. Ok guys - here's my Moi, I caught it in the oven being pan roasted, swimming in browned butter topped with sauteed almonds. This was sooo good.
Everybody get's this - the house dessert plate, a nice sampler style selection. Tonight it was Creme Brulee, Chestnut Ice Cream, a Banana Mouse and some fresh fruit.
Here we are about to start our desserts - they even gave Dawn her own little sampler.
Waves: 1 - 2 feet
Wind: Light offshore
Better than yesterday - good conditions with more waves and less people. Always a good combination.

Dora doesn't know it yet but she just got me a new (used) SUP for my birthday. My birthday is tomorrow but I had to do a test run today - the board is loose and quick. I got this 8-7 quad rocket from Lansen.
Waves: 1 - 2 feet
Wind: Light offshores
First of all the predicted swell didn't arrive.
Second, we had a mixed morning of surf. The morning started bad - hardly any waves, then it got good for about 20 minutes, then it died again.
Waves: 1 - 1.5 feet
Wind: Still windy
What did I tell you? Today is smaller than yesterday and still windy. Overall not a good day of surf.
The highlight for me was getting a clip of Nainoa. Nainoa is Charlie's nephew's cousin's brother's step-son.
Charlie was 'surf guide' for a day.
Go Nainoa!
Waves: 1 - 2 feet
Wind: Still Strong
More windy surf but with smaller waves - shoot, I thought we were going to get the same waves as yesterday but Mother Nature fooled us again. Tomorrow will probably be smaller.
Waves: 1 - 2.5 feet
Wind: Strong North-East
Still very windy but the waves were a little better than yesterday.
Thanks Tony for being my camera-man this morning!
