Waves: .5 - 1 foot
Wind: Strong
Mostly wind-swell waves with strong winds. Only had me, Tony and Mike. I see a lot of you saving your gas - that's good.

Mahalo to CT for his SUPr-delivery of his SUPr-smoke salmon and Veni-jerky. I think dinner tonight will include some smoke salmon with cream cheese and capers!
Waves: .5 - 1 foot
Wind: Light to medium offshore
It was looking really bad from shore - super small breaking on the inside only - right on the sidewalk. We went out anyway to find it was only half-junk. Most waves were converging peaks that fade into the channel, but there was 1 or 2 that had enough push to connect to the inside. Stay home, save gas and wait for the weekend.
Saturday afternoon Dawn has her soccer 'games'. Here she is with her best buds.
After the game we were invited to dinner at one of the parents' house where we were treated to a Peruvian (from Peru) feast. For those who don't know about Peruvian food (like me) it's really like Mexican food but little different.
For starters we had Opah ceviche - Opah and shrimp marinated in lemon juice tossed with cilantro, red onion and lettuce served with traditional boiled potato and corn. Added optional orange chili paste for extra kick.
The main course was just a free for all of grilled Opah, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp and sausage plus black beans lettuce and cheese with your choice of soft flour tortilla or crispy corn tortilla. Of course I had to start with one of each.
Also available was fresh pico de gallo.
and fresh green tomatillo salsa.
For dessert we had these awesome cookies made by another parent, served with ice cream and fresh fruit.
Waves:1 - 2 feet
Wind: Light offshore
Looked junk from shore but it turned out to be a good morning of fun-size surf.

FYI - There were the 'blinky-signs' around the Courts area. Signs said no parking tomorrow from 1am - 10am for Aloha Festival Parade.
I'm not sure if it's the whole park or just portions, also not sure about the 2nd day of HSA at Courts which I thought was going to run tomorrow.
Waves: .5 - 1 foot
Wind: Strong East winds.
This morning was the worst morning in a while - small weak waves with strong East winds PLUS high tide. Only for the BRAVE! If you went home you're a wimp!
Waves: 1 - 2 feet
Wind: Variable
Just like yesterday.

When the surf is small my thoughts go to food. A while back I made this dish for Dora and my mother. Of course I only use Hawaiian Host Mac Nuts - they're the best!
Ahi dipped in egg, rolled in crushed Mac Nuts, then sauteed with garlic.
Butter, garlic, little salt, tobiko fish eggs and heavy cream reduction. As Emerill would say they're 'Getting Happy'.
Served with rice. To my surprise the charred Mac Nuts were not burnt or bitter at all, they might have been the best part.
Accompanied with a fresh garden salad, topped with toasted Mac Nuts.
