Today was the first day of Kindergarten for Dawn. Actually she just went for screening where they test each child for the basic school skills.
How was the surf?
What did I miss?
Waves: 1 - 2 feet windswell
Wind: Medium (maybe 20 mph)
Crowd: Super light (where was everyone?)
I was ready to ride the good waves like yesterday but 'Ahhh!' was smaller - I took my LB out anyway.

I call them the 'young guns', the older gentlemen who sit on the bench where we park and swim. I just found out Sam had passed away recently and Chinna has passed away about a month ago. Sad to hear about anyone passing away but I guess we all have our time. God Bless them all.
Waves: 1 - occasional 3 feet
Wind: Moderate trades
Crowd: Started heavy, ended light
I thought was going to be smaller, looked smaller from shore, so I took my SUP out. As I'm reaching the reef, I see the overhead sets - 'ah too late to change boards' - I should've took my LB, the waves were nice and clean.

Paddle Found - there are good people in the world! Paul's paddle was returned this morning - that's cool.

I very sadly report that an old Concession's regular 'Buzz' has passed away yesterday. He was a good surfer, good father and good man.
Waves: 1 - 2 feet
Wind: Perfect offshore
Crowd: Light
Waves were a little smaller but a lot smoother than yesterday. Good to see Charlie out catching some long lefts. Tony was 'in the zone' snagging all the nice rights.
Lost paddle - Paul left his Kialoa Methane near the showers yesterday and someone took it. If you heard of someone 'finding' a paddle let Paul know.
Check this Wedge video - These guys are crazy!!!!
Waves: 1 - 3 feet
Wind: Strong to Blowing
Crowd: Very light
Windy but fun - I took advantage of the light Courts crowd and took my SUP to grab some rights. Lots of waves and good crowd.
As I was going out - Leighton was coming in - he snapped his paddle laying into a cutback on a set wave.
Daryl sent me a link to this photo - looks crazy!
I call it 'Funky Friday'.
Waves: 1 to very occasional 3 feet
Winds: Funky morning sickness to glassy to onshore
Crowd: Very light compared to yesterday.
Even in the funk there were good waves to be found. Waves really droppped but since the crowd was light was fun.
Waves came up! This morning was 2 to 4 feet but inconsistent with some funky morning sickness. Crowd was up too - seemed a little congested at times.
I was lucky enough to get a few VERY good set waves - that made my day.
Afternoon update: As I look out the window, I see a good size pack out but no waves - must be still inconsistent. I wonder how China's contest is doing - they're scoring some good waves!
Big Wednesday turned out to be 'Big Hype' at least in the morning - maybe later today.
Waves were maybe 3 feet at best but there were only a couple that size, the rest of the waves were small and weak. To add to that, the winds were funky and swirling around and was crowded. Yesterday was way better.
Waves were 1 to 2 (maybe 2 1/2) feet with light winds. Smaller size and fewer waves than yesterday.
I woke up early, drove down early and didn't see the roping rights I wanted to see. We ended up standing sround talking story and paddled out late. The surf looked junk from shore but once we were out waves started to come in.
Everybody waiting for 'Big Wednesday'!!!!!
1 to 3 feet, fun and beautiful.
I got down late and was surprised to find some decent sets and a small pack out. I thought was going to be junk so I came late - fool me. The winds were good and waves were lining up nice with the low tide. I went Courts and Big Lefts where Austin was tearing it up on his 12' gun.
Austin cranking it up!
CT driving it high!
I'd also like to take this time to welcome brother Mitchell Kido into the SUP-club (please everyone clap hands and cheer). We knew it was just a matter of time before he ventured to the SUP-side, I'm sure he'll be out in the lineup shortly.
